So what do you get when you put together 3,000 bike riders, music, and a beautiful night? A really, really Happy Friday.

This past Friday I participated in Critical Mass. In science, the point at which a chain reaction can become self-sustaining is called a critical mass. Bicyclists have taken the term and given it a double meaning: a critical mass of bikes is the point at which it becomes safe to ride in the streets, cross through intersections, and avoid automobile injury.
